On January 23, 2025, Dr. Cassandre Djian (AP-HP Lariboisière) unveiled, for the first time, the results of the ETOC study (Study on Olfactory and Cognitive Disorders), conducted in collaboration with Professor Lledo from the Institut Pasteur.
Supported for over three years by the Per Fumum Endowment Fund, this research has enabled the characterization of the “olfactory neural signatures” of patients suffering from persistent anosmia after COVID-19, using olfactory evoked potentials (OEP), a highly technical method previously unknown in France.
This fundamental and clinical work now paves the way for more precise diagnoses and tailored olfactory rehabilitation for anosmic patients.
