Osmotheque, time for phase 2 of the project.
Phase 2 of the project that will revolutionize the management of the collection of the Osmotheque, the International Conservatory of Perfumes, has begun! The purpose of this second phase is to purchase the new collection management software, but also to set up the parameters adapted to the specific needs and uses of the Osmothèque. This project was conceived by SKINsoft, an IT research laboratory that offers innovative solutions that are used by institutions that are very popular with the general public, such as the Rodin Museum, the Museum of Decorative Arts, Air France and the Château de Versailles.
The solution considered, for the Osmothèque, is a “mix” between a collection management tool (museums, private collections, companies), a photo library and a tool for managing archives and promoting digital heritage. It is a much broader tool than the current database (which only manages the perfume collection of the winery). The Osmothèque will thus have a complete, multilingual, mobile and secure software suite to manage the cellar’s collection of 5,000 perfumes to date and, in the future, other collection segments such as bottles and related documentation.
In mid-September, the teams will be able to be trained on this new tool to be operational very quickly!
